Halloween: Oops! Better Late Then Never

So apparently I didn't make an entry of the kids Halloween costumes though I could have sworn I did. Well here they are... or were.
GMan's costume, Blastzone from Skylanders: Swap Force was made with a washable paint, and though I covered it with ModPoge we got caught in a heavy down pour and the costume was completely ruined.   He is still sad about that.

Halloween and the Last Two Months

My Zombie Pigman (Minecraft) and my beautiful Unicorn.  Another year of homemade costumes. They kept some candy for enjoyment but when we got home it was a big sorting and discussion for them, what to keep... what to give away.  Decisions, decisions.
Grady sold a little over $3 to me.  When she saw that Cora stuffed her sell off pile. Cora sold about $7.50 worth of Candy to me at $.25 a piece.  When Grady saw that he got mad and then did a complete reassessment of his sell out.  In the end he sold me over $10.00 worth of candy.  Off to the Toy Store tomorrow for spending of this Halloween earnings. Rivers Reach neighborhood was good to them.

.
Schooling includes learning basic body parts.  They had a blast getting their bodies traced and labeling all the parts together.  Then they "needed clothes" drawn on. There has also been some painting going on.

This young girl love her leotards, especially the one that flies out when she twirls.  She wears these to her Gymnastics classes.  Just ask her to show you her balance beam routine.

She loves to be is Goofy pictures in any case.
Popsicle stick Puzzles.Easy fun.

Family picture time again.Always glad to get this shot.

Grady and Cora couldn't spot the frog right away can you.  Look at the Bark a moment.
As usual they also love playing on Daddies fancy phone. (Upper picture part of a discussion Grady and I had about proper distance to work from the page.)

Much of October

Much of October. Life in general has been same old same old, with some homeschooling, bike riding and costume making thrown in.... oh, and lots of whining.

Grady (and training wheels) with a new friend Bryan.

Here Cora gets a moment to shoot everyone with the Storm Trooper gun. You can see the grin from the back of her head.
I took the kids Crabbing for four hours one Friday. The guy next to us caught 13 crabs while we caught two, so it was a slow day. Surprisingly, they loved every bit of it, except when the wind blew really cold. I cooked up our catch Maryland style and melted some butter.... and they all looked at me like I was crazy. More salt next time, but they did come around and eat 'em.
We refurbished a bike for Grady, and though the bike may not have been worth the paint and tires, Grady was worth it... and the family learning time was worth it. It was the process... and this bike fits him better than his starter 10" bike.
A Friday School lesson for just us... Gak! Just mix food dye, cornstarch and water. Solid... Liquid... Solid...
While I worked on bills one day the kids reversed the legs on their table and chair just for kicks.
Cora full body hugging Chester on a perfect fall day. He was chewing a bone at the time, best dog ever!
Halloween Gingerbread houses. We went in on this together, the kids threw in their spending monies just cause it looked like a lot of fun.

Uh Oh!

LOOT!
Before we left we remembered to get a picture this year. Cora was a Flower, Grady a Storm Trooper. I was a Biker Chick, which fit cause I rode the kids around in the bike trailer.

LOOT!

Grady nearly did this all on his own. Awesome right?!

Fickle Halloween!

Cora: "I wanna be a storm trooper"
Me: "Like Grady?"
Cora: "just like Grady, I wanna be like Grady , be a Storm Trooper"

*later*

Me: "You wanna be a storm Trooper, like this, here I have some things to make that..."
Cora: "NO"
Me: "No?"
Grady: "Cora wants to be a storm Trooper"
Cora: " No Grady, I wanna be a Flower!"

*later*

Me:"Here Cora I have something to make you a flower cost"
Cora: "NO! I don't wanna be a Flower!"
Me: "We are running out of time what to you want to be?
Cora: "I don't want to dress up!" (or Cut pumpkin, etc)

*later*

Cora: "I wanna be a storm Trooper!"

Haloween

Though these pictures were taken after the hard work of trick-or-treating I think It captures the effort of the holiday well, even if it misses the anticipation. Grady carved his pumpkin the white one all by himself. Cora ate candy in the bike trailer before I got home and then was sick for a week... but I couldn't have pried it out of her grasp anyway.

Halloween

Trick Or Treat!

Cora was a bumble bee and Grady was Percy. He actually wore the get-up for about ten minutes, maybe less.
Hay ride trick or treating, fun, different. The Rivers Reach Neighborhood really pulls together for a good time!
The Kids loved it and Percy got a free ride too! I thought I was gonna have to carry it all night.

We put GMan in his Halloween shirt so he was at least "dressed up" a bit. Good thing Mark thought to bring it along.

The Making of Percy... and No, He didn't really wear it. ***Sigh***

We went to a Pumpkin Carving Party last night.
Grady had a blast running around with older, bigger boys... oh! and helping break a pinata.

Can you guess what Grady's costume is? The answer is at the bottom. Here is a hint, look at his feet where his shoes are on.

Also check out our YouTube. I'm going to post a video of all the pumkins everyone made lit up at night. Ours is pretty big, and has a cute little round nose.

He is a Hobbit! Thanks to Bluew for donating the hair I glued to the shoes. Odin - all you have to do is smile and you can have this little number if mom and dad want to use it in two years.
